The concert of 20 September 1986 in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Germany, is one of a series of concerts which took place at the beginning of each season on 21 March, June, September and December in 1985 and 1986.

The concert on the equinox on 20 September 1986 was recorded.

It is a special work in which the sound instruments are used virtuosically in combination and spherical sound structures are created.

The piece with the South Indian Vina interprets an Indian Raga and uses all possibilities of the electronic Vina. This ranges from singing into the body of the instrument to lightly blowing off the resonance sides.

about

This piece is played with a newly developed instrument. It is an electric Chin (Qin), which I developed and built in 1984. The piece takes up the chakater of Chinese music. Due to the ultra high amplification of my special pickups, the instrument reacts to the slightest touch. You blow the strings only slightly and they sound like a wind harp, or you play with small mallets and hear how the overtone spectra change.
The concert was played live and is a mixture of improvisation, old traditional music patterns and minimal music. The music is best heard over a good hi-fi system or headphones, because it reproduces many overtone spectra.
